Apprentice opportunity (start this year)



We’re looking for a motivated Apprentice Fabricator/Welder to join the team at Spitfire Engineering Services Ltd in Brixworth, Northamptonshire, starting this year.

For nearly two decades we’ve built a reputation for quality workmanship, honest advice and bespoke engineering. We design and manufacture recycling equipment including trommels, conveyors, screening machines and picking lines—and no two builds are ever quite the same. That means you’ll learn real, practical skills in a busy workshop where your work genuinely matters

What you’ll learn

As part of our apprenticeship programme, you’ll be supported by experienced engineers and develop skills across:

• Welding and fabrication fundamentals
• Reading drawings and working to specifications
• Safe use of workshop tools and machinery
• Quality checks, finishing and attention to detail
• Teamwork, communication and problem-solving on real projects

Our apprenticeship pathway typically starts with a 2-year general welding course, with the option of a 3rd year to deepen your skills (including welding/fabrication and CAD design exposure, depending on the role and your progress).

You don’t need years of experience—what matters most is attitude. We’re looking for someone who is:

• Reliable, punctual and keen to learn
• Practical and hands-on, with good attention to detail
